The Trophy "General Leonard Mociulschi" for 2010 was granted to the 22nd Mountain Battalion "Ciresoaia" for its soldiers' heroism during the Second World War. The valor of this unit - in fact the whole behavior of its soldiers and officers - brought the Order of "Michael the Brave" to its glorious battle flag, awarded by the King Michael I of Romania. These history facts are highlighted in the outstanding book written by the prestigious military historian col. (R) Gheorghe Suman, The History of the 22nd Mountain Battalion "Ciresoaia".
 
     
 
 
     

This book reveals that throughout the war (1942 - 1945), the 22nd Mountain Battalion was a "child" of the general Leonard Mociulschi and have fought heroically on the battlefields. Besides, the 22nd Mountain Battalion was one of the best and most professional unit of the 3rd Mountain Division, beloved and highly appreciated by the great Romanian general for the courage and honor of the mountain troops. The 22nd Mountain Battalion was introduced into the fight during the most difficults moments of battles, as an element of surprise. This battalion contributed many times to achieve victory and peace.

A tribute of gratitude to all the fallen heros of the Romanian Armed Forces units, covered with glory on the altars of freedom and independence ideals.
