The very own general Mociulschi's military code of honor |
The warrior's pride oblige in combat every commander to intervene right away when something goes wrong on the battlefield, regardless the level of the unit, from company through battalion. Personally, I have never abdicated from this doctrine and I shall continue to be exigent first of all with myself. The deputy commander must be an alter ego of the head, assisting the command over the combat management and to restore the order wherever is considered necessary. Every commander must engage his LIFE and HONOR for the unit and the flag of battle which the country has given him, being responsible for the soldiers' life. In my oppinion, a commander should better choose the supreme sacrifice instead of running back as a coward, the most shameful and degraded situation for any military leader. We do not need tutors, advice-givers nor the awards hunters amongst the warriors but personal examples, permanent and highly motivated. A commander which does not have the honor and pride of a warrior, moral resources and the necessary strength, should be released from command!"
Leonard Mociulschi, Eastern Front, 1st of July 1942 |
